Welcome, to our editor at Next! . . .

At Next! we want to have dialogue with our readers unrestricted by political dogma.  We are a diverse bunch, but one thing we all agree on is that we want to maximize freedom in our lives. We want to explore the world of ideas, to find ways in which we agree and then determine how we can leverage our shared interests into a freer and more rational world for all of us.

Tall order?  You bet.  Stay with us as we work to provide you, dear reader, with information that is useful and thought-provoking.

In today's article, we are intoducing our editor, Phil Saunders.

Meaningful dialogue is the thing

Hello everyone, I am the editor of the Next! Newsletter. I don't like ominous titles like that, but suffice it to say I will do my best to facilitate high quality writing and editorial content on behalf and with the help of the contributors.

As you will see on my bio, I have worked as a wordsmith for many years. I have taught writing and done my best to promote the use of good English for the purpose of communicating and telling good stories.

Writing is risky business, as William S. Burroughs once opined. In the case of this newsletter and website, it is very risky business. The idea for this newsletter is to explore important ideas in the hope of starting a dialogue about the future.

My goal as editor is to help make the writers more engaging, less jargon-laden and easily understandable. That's not to say I will support making things dumber or over simplifying. It is merely an attempt to work with the writers to help make their writing clear and appropriately informative.

At Next! We want to have our dialogue unrestricted by political dogma.  We are a diverse bunch, but one thing we all agree is that we want to maximize freedom in our lives.

Like many of the writers for Next! I have some strong opinions. That's not to say I am right (tending to play more on the left side of the political spectrum), or even close to having found the answers. It just means that I try to say and write what I mean and mean and write what I think. I look forward to helping engage a new discussion, expose people to new ideas and help mediate an important discussion about our future.

I hope you will engage in the conversation and look forward to hearing from people who want to contribute to our discussion. NEXT!

If you are interested in contributing, or have questions about what you read in this newsletter, please feel free to get in touch with me directly: editor@nextnewsletter.com
